(सवैया)
चैन नहीं मन में न मलीन, सुनैन परे जल में न तई है। [1]
‘ताज’ कहै परयंक यो बाल, ज्यों चपकी माल विलाय गई है॥ [2]
नेकु विहाय न रैन कछु यह, जान भयानक भारि भई है। [3]
भौन में भानु समान सुदीपक, अगन में मनो आगि दई है॥ [4]

Hindi Meaning

ताज़ बीबी वर्णन करती हैं कि श्री कृष्ण के वियोग की इस दारुण अवस्था में न तो चित्त को विश्राम है और न ही इन अश्रुपूरित नेत्रों को रोए बिना शांति प्राप्त होती है। [1]
शय्या पर मूर्च्छित अवस्था में उनका शरीर ऐसा आभासित होता है, मानो किसी सुकुमारी के वक्षस्थल पर सुशोभित वनमाला विरह-ताप से झुलसकर वहीं अंतर्धान हो गई हो। [2]
विरह की घड़ी में एक पल व्यतीत करना भी दूभर है; रात्रि का प्रत्येक प्रहर अत्यंत भयावह और कष्टकारी प्रतीत होता है। [3]
भवन में सूर्य के समान प्रकाश देने वाले ये सुंदर दीपक भी विरहाग्नि में दग्ध हृदय के लिए मानो आग में घी डालने का कार्य कर रहे हैं। [4]

(savaiya) chain nahin man men n malin, sunain pare jal men n tai hai. [1]
‘taja’ kahai paraynk yo bal, jyon chapaki mal vilay gai hai.. [2]
neku vihay n rain kachhu yah, jan bhayanak bhari bhai hai. [3]
bhaun men bhanu saman sudipak, agan men mano agi dai hai.. [4]

Transliteration

(Sawiya) Chain Nahim Man Mein Na Malina, Sunaina Pare Jala Mem Na Tai Hai. [1] Taj Kahai Parayanka Yo Bal, Jyon Chapaki Maal Vilay Gai Hai. [2] Neku Vihaya Na Rain Kachu Yah, Jan Bhayanak Bhari Bhai Hai. [3] Bhaun Mem Bhanu Saman Sudipak, Agan Mem Mano Aagi Dai Hai. [4] - Taj Begam (Taj Bibi) Tāj Bībī describes that in this painful state of separation from Śrī Kṛṣṇa, neither does the mind find any rest, nor do these tear-filled eyes find peace without shedding tears. [1] Lying unconscious upon the bed, Her body appears as though a necklace adorning a maiden’s neck has broken and scattered itself there. [2] In the anguish of separation, each passing moment becomes unbearable, and the night feels long and filled with suffering. [3] Even the beautiful lamps burning within the house, shining like the sun, seem only to intensify the fire of separation, further pouring ghee upon the flames of the afflicted heart. [4]
