कागा कोयल, हंस बग, गुबरीला मदपान।
भगवत बरन समान दोऊ, क्रिया पृथक पहिचान॥

Hindi Meaning
कौवा और कोयल, हंस और बगुला तथा गुबरीला और भ्रमर—इन युग्मों में दोनों का रंग एक-दूसरे के समान होता है; अर्थात् कौवे का कोयल से, हंस का बगुले से और गुबरीले का भ्रमर से रंग मिलता-जुलता होता है।
किंतु इनकी पहचान कार्य की भिन्नता से होती है, न कि रंग से।
इसी प्रकार साधु की पहचान उसके वेश-विन्यास या तिलक से नहीं, अपितु उसके आचरण, कार्य और भक्ति से होती है।

kaga koyal, hns bag, gubarila madapan.
bhagavat baran saman duo, kriya prithak pahichan..

The color of each pair like crow & cuckoo, swan & heron, and gubrila & bee are identical, yet their qualities are different and they are known only by their qualities, not by their outward appearance. Similarly, One should recognize the saint according to His conduct, deeds, bhakti, etc, and not by His outward appearance like His clothes, tilak, and so on.
