शब्दब्रह्मणि निष्णातो न निष्णायात् परे यदि।
श्रमस्तस्य श्रमफलो ह्यधेनुमिव रक्षत:॥

यदि कोई वेदों का सारा ज्ञान याद भी कर ले, लेकिन यदि वो अपना मन निरन्तर भगवान में ना लगा पाये, तो उसका ज्ञान उसके लिए उस बोझ की तरह है जैसे वो गाय को तो पाले परन्तु वो गाय दूध न देती हो

yadi koi vedon ka sara jnyan yad bhi kar le, lekin yadi vo apana man nirantar bhagavan men na laga paye, to usaka jnyan usake lie us bojh ki tarah hai jaise vo gay ko to pale parantu vo gay dudh n deti ho
Transliteration
sabda-brahmani nisnato na nisnayat pare yadi
sramas tasyasrama-phalo hy adhenum iva raksatah
- Shrimad Bhagvatam (11.11.18)
One may be well versed in all the transcendental literature of the Vedas, but if one fails to fix one’s mind on the God, then it must be concluded that all of his education is like the burden of a beast or like one’s keeping a cow without milking capacity.
English Translation
