कबहूँ हकधक हो रहै, उठै प्रेम हित गाय।
सहजो आँख मुँदी रहै, कबहूँ सुधि हो जाय॥

Hindi Meaning
सच्चे प्रेमी भक्त के लक्षण बताते हुए सहजो बाई कहती हैं कि कभी वह भक्त प्रेम-भाव में इतना डूब जाता है कि स्तब्ध रह जाता है और उसे बाहर की कोई सुधि नहीं रहती।
कभी-कभी वही प्रेम का वेग उसे सहसा गाने के लिए प्रेरित करता है।
कभी वह आँखें मूँदकर ध्यान में लीन हो जाता है, और कभी अपनी चेतना में लौटकर बाह्य जगत की सुधि में आ जाता है।

While describing the signs of a true premi bhakta, Sahajo Bai says that sometimes he stands motionless, deeply absorbed in bhava-samadhi (ecstasy) and loses all outer awareness. At other times, the force of divine love lifts him into spontaneous singing. Sometimes he closes his eyes and sinks into deep contemplation, and at other times he returns to his external consciousness.
