मन रे श्याम सों कर हेत।
कृष्ण नाम की वार करले तो वचे तेरो खेत॥ [1]
मन सुआ तन पींजरा हो तासु बाँध्यों तेरौ हेत।
काल रूपी मझार डोले अब घड़ी तोहै लेत॥ [2]
विषय विष रस छाँड़ दे रे उतर सागर सेत।
‘सूर’ श्री गोपाल भजले गुरु बताये देत॥ [3]

Hindi Meaning
अरे मन! श्यामसुन्दर से प्रेम के बंधन में जुड़ जा।
“कृष्ण” नाम का घेरा अपने चारों ओर बना ले, और अपना जीवन रूपी खेत सुरक्षित कर ले। [1]
तेरा मन रूपी तोता इस देह रूपी पिंजरे में कैद है, जहाँ तूने अपने स्नेह और आसक्ति की डोर बाँध रखी है।
किंतु काल रूपी बिल्ली चारों ओर घूम रही है — जो किसी भी क्षण तुझे निगलने को तैयार है। [2]
इसलिए इन विषैले इन्द्रिय-भोगों को छोड़ दे, और संसार-सागर को पार करने वाला सेतु पकड़।
श्री सूरदास कहते हैं — सद्गुरु ने यह मार्ग दिखाया है कि श्रीगोपाल का अनन्य भजन कर, उसी से तेरा परम उद्धार होगा। [3]

This parrot-like mind is trapped in the cage-like body, entangled in attachments. Meanwhile, Yamraj, the God of death, like a prowling cat, circles all around, ready to eat you at any moment! [2]
Therefore, abandon these poisonous sensual desires and cross the bridge over this ocean of worldly illusion. Shri Surdas says — the Guru instructs us to perform exclusive devotion to Shri Gopal. [3]
