प्रेम फाँस मैं फँसि मरै , सोई जियै सदाहिं।
प्रेम-मरम जाने बिना, मरि कोउ जीवत नाहिं॥
- श्री रसखान, प्रेम वाटिका (26)
Hindi Meaning
जो प्रभु के प्रेम के बंधन में बँधकर मर जाता है, वही वास्तव में शाश्वत जीवन (अमरत्व) को प्राप्त करता है।
इसके विपरीत, प्रेम के इस गूढ़ रहस्य को जाने बिना, इस संसार में देह मात्र से जीवित रहने वाला व्यक्ति रसिकों की दृष्टि में मृत के समान है।
ऐसा जीव मरने के बाद भी शाश्वत चिन्मय जीवन को प्राप्त नहीं कर पाता।

Prem Phans Mein Fansi Mare, Soi Jiye Sadahi.
Prem-Maram Jane Bina, Mari Kou Jivat Naahin.

One who dies, bound in the ties of the divine love of the Lord, alone attains true and eternal life. In contrast, one who lives in this world without realizing this essence of love is regarded by the rasikas as no better than dead, and even after death, such a person does not attain true eternal life.
English Translation
Prem Phans Mein Fansi Mare, Soi Jiye Sadahi.
