(राग सारंग)
ऐसैं बसिऐ ब्रज की बीथिनि ।
ग्वारनि के पनवारे चुनि-चुनि, उदर भरीजै सीथिनि॥ [1]
पैंड़े के सब बृच्छ बिराजत, छाया परम पुनीतनि ।
कुंज-कुंज-प्रति लोटि-लोटि, ब्रज-रज लागै रँग-रीतनि॥ [2]
निसि दिन निरखि जसोदा-नंदन, अरु जमुना-जल पीतनि।
परसत सूर होत मन पावन, दरसन करत अतीतनि॥ [3]

Hindi Meaning

ब्रह्मा कहते हैं— ब्रज की गलियों में बसने की रीति ऐसी ही होनी चाहिए जहाँ हम ब्रजवासियों और ग्वालों के जूठे पत्तलों से अन्न के दानों (सीथ) को चुन-चुनकर अपना पेट भरें। [1]
मेरी यह परम अभिलाषा है कि उन मार्गों पर मैं वास करूँ जहाँ बड़े-बड़े छायादार वृक्ष सुशोभित हो रहे हों।
कुंज-कुंज में लोट-लोटकर अपने शरीर पर ब्रज की रज लगाऊँ, जिससे मेरा हृदय प्रेम-भक्ति के रंग में सराबोर हो जाए। [2]
वहाँ रहते हुए रात-दिन मैं श्री कृष्ण का दर्शन करूँ और यमुना-जल का पान करूँ।
सूरदास कहते हैं कि यहाँ की भूमि की रज और यमुना जी के भावपूर्वक स्पर्श मात्र से मन परम पावन और निर्मल हो जाता है जिससे श्री कृष्ण के दर्शन सुलभ हो जाते हैं। [3]

gvarani ke panavare chuni-chuni, udar bharijai sithini.. [1]
paindae ke sab brichchh birajat, chhaya param punitani .
kunja-kunja-prati loti-loti, braja-raj lagai rnga-ritani.. [2]
nisi din nirakhi jasoda-nndan, aru jamuna-jal pitani.
parasat sur hot man pavan, darasan karat atitani.. [3]

Transliteration

(Raag Sarang) Aisen Basie Braj Ki Bithini. Gvaran Ke Panvare Chuni-Chuni, Udar Bharijai Sithini. [1] Painde Ke Sab Brichha Birajat, Chhaya Param Punitani. Kunj-Kunj-Prati Loti-Loti, Braj-Raj Lagai Rang-Ritani. [2] Nisi Din Nirakhi Jasoda-Nandan, Aru Jamuna-Jal Pitani. Parasat Sur Hot Man Pavan, Darasan Karat Atitani. [3] - Sri Surdas, Soor Sagar (1108) Brahmā says, one should live in the lanes of Braja in such a way that one sustains oneself through the remnants of food left upon the leaf-plates of the Brajavāsīs and cowherds. [1] This is my supreme longing — that I may reside along those paths adorned with big, shady trees, and roll again and again in the groves, covering my body with the sacred dust of Braja, so that my heart may become saturated with the color of divine love and devotion. [2] While living there, may I behold Śrī Kṛṣṇa day and night and partake of the waters of Yamunā. Sūradāsa says that by the mere touch of this sacred dust and the devotional contact of Yamunā Jī, the mind becomes pure and sanctified, and thus the vision of Śrī Kṛṣṇa becomes easily attainable. [3]
