लोचन स्याम सुधीर के, मोचन विरह विसाल।
बिन ही अंजन ये अहो, खंजन लोचन बाल॥
- श्रीभट्ट देवाचार्य, युगल शतक (63)

Hindi Meaning

श्रीरंगदेवीजी श्रीललिताजी से कहती हैं- हे श्रीललिते ! श्री राधा के नेत्रों की ओर तो देख ! उनके ये नेत्र खंजन (पक्षी) की भाँति शोभायमान लग रहे हैं।
यद्यपि श्रीप्रियाजी ने अपने नेत्रों में अञ्जन-धारण नहीं किया है, तथापि बिना अञ्जन के ही उनके ये खञ्जन-नेत्र वृन्दावन-बिहारी श्रीकृष्ण के हृदय की विरह-व्यथा को नष्ट करने वाले हैं।

bin hi anjan ye aho, khnjan lochan bal..

Transliteration

Lochan Syam Sudhir Ke, Mochan Virah Visaal. Bin Hi Anjan Yeh Aho, Khanjan Lochan Baal. - Shri Bhatt Devacharya, Yugal Shatak (63) Śrī Raṅgadevī Jī says to Śrī Lalitā Jī: O Lalite! Behold the eyes of Śrī Rādhā — how they shine like the graceful khanjana birds. Although Śrī Rādhā has not adorned Her eyes with collyrium, even without it, these khanjana-like glances possess the power to dispel the pangs of separation from the heart of Vṛndāvana-Bihārī, Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

English Translation
