Hindi Meaning

Śrī Gopāla has arrived in Barsānā to celebrate the joyous festival of Phāga (Holī). All around, people sing the songs of Phāguna, clap their hands in rhythmic beat, and every heart sways in delight. [1]
Meanwhile, the fair Kiśorī, Śrī Rādhā, stepping gracefully forward from amidst Her circle of sakhīs, takes abīra (scented powder) in Her hands and lovingly applies it upon the cheeks of Śyāmasundara. [2]
On the other side, Bāṅke Bihārī raises His golden water-guns and showers streams of color. Śrī Lāla Balabīra says it appears as though from every limb of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the very hue of divine love itself is overflowing. [3]
From rooftops, balconies, latticed windows, and from every side, every corner, people are joyfully raining gulāla upon Śrī Kṛṣṇa on this festive day. [4]
