किती न गोकुल कुल-बधू, काहि न किहिं सिख दीन।
कौनै तजी न कुल-गली, ह्वै मुरली-सुर लीन॥
- श्रीमहाकवी बिहारी लाल, बिहारी सतसई (22)
Hindi Meaning
गोकुल में न जाने कितनी कुलवधुएँ हैं, और ऐसी कोई नहीं जिसे किसी ने शिक्षा न दी हो; परन्तु कुलवधू होकर और उपदेश सुनकर भी ऐसी कोई न बची, जो श्रीकृष्ण की वंशी की तान में डूबकर लज्जा और लोकमर्यादा का त्याग न कर बैठी हो।

kaunai taji n kula-gali, hvai murali-sur lin..

Kiti Na Gokul Kula-Vadhu, Kahi Na Kihin Sikh Deen.
Kaune Taji Na Kul-gali, Hvai Murali-Sur Leen.

In Gokul there were many married women, and all were well-trained in social conduct; yet, despite family bonds and moral teachings, not one remained who, upon being captivated by the sweet melody of Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s flute, did not abandon shame and family decorum.
